In order to regularly provide fresh air to a cigar cabinet which has already placed, it is recommended to open the cigar cabinet at least once in two weeks.

Unlike ordinary cigarettes, cigars can be stored for a long time. The life of cigars continues all the time. If you want them to bloom the most beautiful and wonderful, you need to take care of them. Cigars are like wine. The more they are putted, the more mellow they are. So how to store cigars? Let's take a look at the care and storage methods of cigars.

1. Optimum storage temperature for cigars

18-21°C is considered an ideal storage temperature for cigars. Below 12°C, the expected cigar maturation process will be weakened, so the cold wine storage cellar is only suitable for a limited number of types of cigars. The worst is the high temperature. If it is higher than 24°C, it will cause tobacco insects and cigar corruption. Absolutely prevent direct sunlight from the cigar cabinet.

2. Breathe fresh air

In order to regularly provide fresh air to a cigar cabinet which has already placed, it is recommended to open the cigar cabinet at least once in two weeks.

3. The longest storage period of cigars

If the cigar is stored in a cigar cabinet, as long as the relative humidity is kept constant between 65-75% and fresh air is constantly provided, theoretically there is no time limit for storing cigars. High-quality handmade cigars can retain their flavor after many years of storage. Especially in Britain, there is a habit of keeping the flavor of cigars unchanged for a long time.

4. Excessive maturation of cigars

Rare cigars are usually aged in the air-conditioning equipment of the factory or distributor for about 6 months before they are transported to the tobacco store. However, due to the high demand for Cuban cigars, there are more and more signs that this maturation process is gradually shortening. Therefore, it is recommended that you buy your cigars and then mature them in your cigar cabinet for 3-6 months before smoking. In the process of maturation, the cigar can glow with a more stable flavor. However, some rare cigars may have a unique fragrance after being matured for several years. Therefore, deciding when to stop maturation depends entirely on everyone's taste. A very interesting thing for cigar consumers is to compare the flavors of the same brand under different aging times. So you can find the most suitable time for storage and maturation.

5. The "marriage" of cigars

Cigars will absorb the smell in the surrounding environment. Therefore, the cigar not only absorbs the smell of the inner wooden liner in the cigar cabinet, but also absorbs the smell of other cigars stored in the same cigar cabinet at the same time. Cigar cabinets are generally equipped with boxes to minimize the flavor of cigars. However, to completely solve the problem of cigar flavor, cigars must be stored in different cigar cabinets or cigar cabinets with drawers according to the brand, so that the cigars can maintain their original flavor. Some cigar fans, however, will try to store cigars of different brands in the same cigar cabinet and mature for several months in order to mix their favorite flavors. But usually, cigars of different intensity (that is, different countries or regions) should still be stored in different places as far as possible to avoid odor. A cigar cabinet with multiple small drawers is a convenient tool to prevent odor.

6. Cigars placed in the cigar cabinet need to be rolled

If 75 count Robusto are stored in a small cigar cabinet, the cigar does not need to be rolled frequently, because a refined cigar cabinet of this size can easily reach a constant humidity. However, in a large cigar cabinet with multiple grids or multiple layers, the humidity level depends on the humidification system. Therefore, if the cigar is stored for a long time, it needs to be flipped every 1-3 months. Alternatively, place the cigars that need long-term storage in a place far away from the humidifier for maturation, and place the cigars that will be consumed in the near future close to the humidifier for humidification.

7. Cellophane for cigars

Cellophane is used to keep the humidity for cigars as much as possible during transportation. But in the cigar cabinet, cellophane will prevent the excellent humidity from optimizing its flavor. If cellophane must be put into the cigar cabinet together, the both ends of the cellophane package must also be opened to maintain oxygen circulation. In the final analysis, whether to peel off the cellophane is a personal issue: peeling off is to get the desired ripening flavor, and not peeling off is to prevent the cigar from odor. Therefore, if there is no partition box in the cigar cabinet, and you dont want the flavors of the cigars to affect each other, you can put the cellophane into the cigar cabinet to store the cigars.

Rare cigars are usually wrapped in a piece of Spanish cedar coat during transportation. Whether to remove it is also a matter of personal preference, just like the above question.

8. The best way to preserve cigars

According to the price of the purchased cigars, if the quantity of cigars exceeds the number you consume within 1-2 days, you must find a suitable storage environment for your cigars, otherwise, your investment in cigars will be wasted: Dry, odorless, and unable to smoke. The best storage method is to put the cigar in a place that can maintain the temperature at 70 degrees Fahrenheit and the humidity at 72 levels. Of course the most convenient way is to buy a wooden cigar cabinet with a humidifier.

9. Selection method for preserving cigars

Of course, there are also alternative storage methods. Although the cigar cabinet is by far the most effective storage tool, this does not mean that cigars can only be stored in the cigar cabinet. As long as it is airtight, a refrigerable container can store cigars, but it must be remembered that the key to cigar preservation is moisture, so a humidifier must be installed in the container to keep the cigar at a suitable humidity.

10. Carrying cigars on travel

If you need to carry a cigar while traveling, the cigar must be stored in a sealed environment to maintain its humidity. Except for the travel cigar cabinet that is common in the tobacco industry. Various sealed moisturizing bags can also be used. Cigars are more afraid of high temperature and moisture. Especially in the long-distance flight, we must pay more attention!
